What is a Food Hose Reel?

A food and beverage processing reel is an industrial device designed to neatly store food-grade hoses by winding them onto a reel. These reels are manufactured according to specific EU standards for food applications, allowing the hose on the reel to be mobile while the supply hose remains stationary.

Food and beverage hose reels typically come in three types based on their retraction mechanisms: manual, electric motorized, and spring (recoil) hose reels.

• Manual Reels: These do not feature automatic retraction. The hose is manually wound using a crank handle, which can be positioned on either side of the reel upon request. The fluid feed inlet is located opposite the crank handle.
• Electric Motorized and Spring Reels: These reels feature automatic retraction. Spring reels retract using a spring mechanism, while motorized reels utilize an electric motor.

Latching (Locking) Mechanism

Food and beverage processing reels are equipped with a special locking mechanism that allows the hose to be fixed at the desired length. Retraction is initiated by pulling and releasing the hose, disengaging the lock. Unless otherwise requested, these reels are manufactured with a locking mechanism.
